This prairie planting has year-round interest, plus it is wildlife-friendly & pollinator-friendly. Creamy Echinacea 'Cheyenne Spirit' flowers & its black seedheads; with ornamental grasses including the fine emerald green foliage & airy white seedheads of Sporobolous heterolepsis (prairie dropseed) in front mingling with the Echinacea, backed by the pink & burgundy fall foliage & seedheads of Schizachyrium scoparius (little bluestem) to the left, & on the back right by the burgundy & plum fall foliage of Andropogon gerardii 'Blackhawk' (big bluestem 'Blackhawk').
